Yorktown Victory Celebration - limited events

  • 19 Oct 2021
  • Yorktown, VA

The National Park Service has canceled the parade for October 19th.  This is unfortunate, but there are plenty of other great things happening. See calendar for other events.

The NPS has also asked that the Patriotic Exercises be limited to only 100 persons, but the AFL will gather on the front lawn of the Hornsby House Inn for this portion of the day.  David Bowditch and his team will provide chairs for all AFL members.

Regarding the two Yorktown Day Association events...both have been canceled...
  1. The YDA dinner on October 18th at the American Revolutionary War Museum
  2. The YDA lunch on October 19th at the Custom House

This is what we are still doing...
  1. Dinner Theater in Portsmouth on October 17th.
  2. Rochambeau statue unveiling on October 18th.
  3. Celebratory luncheon after the unveiling on October 18th.
  4. The motor coach will still shuttle us on October 19th
  5. French Cemetery ceremony on October 19th.
  6. Luncheon at the Swem Library on October 19th.
  7. AFL Cocktail Party on October 19th.
