What Would Lafayette wear?

     On Thursday, January 25th at 6:00pm, join Carrie Midura and Derek Heidemann for a virtual presentation about the fashionable clothing of the 1820s.

    Do you want to look the part for the 200th anniversary of Lafayette’s tour, but don’t know what to wear? This webinar will cover the basics of 1820s fashion through an examination of period images and original clothing. 

      It will also provide helpful suggestions and resources for how you can make or buy your own. Carrie Midura is the Coordinator of Households & Historical Clothing at Old Sturbridge Village and Derek Heidemann is the Director of Collections & Research at Old Sturbridge Village. Both have been making reproduction early-19th century clothing for years and are eager to share some tips that will help you look authentic for these important commemorative events.
