The AFL is pleased to participate in the marker dedication of two French Navy officers from the frigate Hermione who are interred in the Trinity Church Historic Cemetery in Newport, Rhode Island.

The ceremony will take place on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2pm and will start a weekend of celebrating the French in Newport.

There will be a reception at the Old Colony House (circa 1741) following the ceremony.  Please see details regarding the French Navy Officers, the Church and other interesting information here: Newport Soldiers.docx

During the weekend of September 11-12, 2021, the Newport Historical Society is pleased to announce a special weekend of programming and events featuring The French in 1780 Newport (Lafayette was there from July 24th to August 5th, 1780).  More information regarding the "French Festivities" can be found here:

Many AFL members will be there...including Bonnie and me.

Thank you and vive Lafayette !!!
