MARCH 14th

On February 24, 2015, the Virginia Assembly passed House Joint Resolution No. 797 “Designating March 14, in 2015 and in each succeeding year, as a Day of Honor for the Marquis de Lafayette in Virginia.”

On Sunday morning, March 14th, 2021, we gathered at the Lafayette Statue in Yorktown to commemorate Virginia Lafayette Day as a "Covid-Conscious" outdoor event.  We held a brief ceremony at the Lafayette statue on the lovely Yorktown waterfront with local dignitaries and laid a ceremonial wreath. Afterwards, we enjoyed a lunch together and were entertained by special guest speaker and Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation Historian, Edward Ayres, who spoke to us about “The French Alliance and the Road to Yorktown”.

Thank you for joining us!
